Gage's Family Wants Death Penalty Reinstated

POSTED: 11:54 am CST February 1, 2006
UPDATED: 12:09 pm CST February 1, 2006

The family of Jetseta Gage, who was kidnapped and killed last March, say her death should serve as a wake-up call to bring back the death penalty for child killers.

Roger Bentley was convicted of first-degree kidnapping and murder Tuesday in Davenport.

He will be sentenced Feb. 24.

After the verdict, Gage's family told reporters lawmakers should reinstate the death penalty for people who commit similar crimes in the future.
