Stockholm - Police investigating the September 2003 killing of former Swedish foreign minister Anna Lindh had six main suspects in their sights, reports said on Friday.
In a coming book, Leif Jennekvist, who headed the investigation, said four other men were held over the killing in addition to convicted killer Mijailo Mijailovic and a 35-year-old man who was held for five days, the Dagens Nyheter newspaper said.
One was a 32-year-old man "who often carried a knife, and was known for violence against women", Jennekvist told the newspaper.
The suspects were ruled out when police verified their whereabouts at the time of the September 9, 2003 attack or they did not match witness statements.

Mijailovic, 26, was sentenced to life last year for the fatal stabbing of Lindh, 46.
Mijailovic was still waiting for word on his request to be transferred to Serbia and Montenegro to serve his sentence there, one of his lawyers was quoted as saying on Friday.
Mijailovic, the son of Serbian immigrants, dropped his Swedish citizenship last year.
Lawyer Mikael Nilsson said Mijailovic still had fears for his security in Sweden, but has participated in more activities with other inmates at Kumla prison, 190km west of Stockholm.
Life in Sweden normally means 18 to 20 years, according to legal experts. - Sapa-dpa
