STOCKHOLM, Sweden --
The man convicted of murdering Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Lindh two years ago will be moved from a high-security prison to a psychiatric clinic, the prison warden said Friday.
Mijailo Mijailovic fatally stabbed Lindh, one of Sweden's most popular politicians, on Sept. 10, 2003, as she shopped unguarded in a Stockholm department store.
"He is not well," said Christer Karlsson, warden of Kumla prison where Mijailovic has been serving his life sentence since December.
Karlsson would not say when he would be moved to the psychiatric clinic in Sundsvall, in central Sweden.
"It will happen soon," Karlsson told The Associated Press by telephone.
In December, the Supreme Court sentenced him to life imprisonment, overturning a ruling by a lower court that sentenced him to psychiatric care.
However, inmates with serious mental problems can be moved to psychiatric clinics if they are in urgent need of mental care, Karlsson said.
