(CNN) -- Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death last September of Yetunde Price, the half-sister of tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams.
Robert Maxfield, 23, was taken into custody Saturday afternoon, said Deputy Scott Butler of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Maxfield and was charged with murder in the first degree and is being held without bail.
Maxfield was one of two suspects authorities say shot and killed Price while she was sitting in a car in Compton, California.
Aaron Michael Hammer, 24, was charged last year with murder in the first degree in connection with Price's death. He has pleaded not guilty.
Price, 31, was shot in the chest after she and 28-year-old Rolland Wormley became involved in a dispute with people on a Compton street as they sat in a car near the Williams sisters' old neighborhood, police said.
After the dispute culminated in gunfire, Wormley sped away to a relative's home and called 911, the district attorney's office said. Price was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, authorities said.
Price, the tennis stars' half sister, was the eldest of three daughters of Oracene Price and the late Yusef Rasheed, her first husband. After Rasheed's death, Oracene Price married Richard Williams. Williams and Price are the now-divorced parents of Venus and Serena.
Price, who was divorced and lived in Corona, about 40 miles from Compton, is survived by three children, sisters Isha, Lyndrea, Venus and Serena, and her mother. She worked as a nurse and at a hair salon.
