Polly Powell went door to door yesterday at a Riviera Beach housing project, passing out gun locks to anyone that would accept them.
A day earlier, the mother of a 14-year-old boy who was fatally shot by a classmate in February distributed the locks at another Riviera Beach housing project.
The pastor of New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Riviera Beach has received 600 gun locks to distribute in Palm Beach County's inner-city neighborhoods in an attempt to prevent more killings. He's passed out 200 locks in two days. Palm Beach County Sheriff Ed Bieluch has another 2,000.
