| A TRIBUTE TO LYNDA LYON... EXECUTED IN THE ELECTRIC CHAIR IN ALABAMA, USA On 10th May 2002 |
| My penpal of 7 years, Lynda Lyon, was executed in Alabama in the electric chair on May 10th 2002. I believe that the Governor of Alabama was fulfilling his intention to kill a woman as the last victim of the chair before it became redundant on July 1st 2002. Lynda wrote the Governor asking for a reprieve but he chose to state that she asked for clemency. There is a radical difference between the meaning of these two words. Also all telephone contact was cut off to and from her a few days prior to her execution and even her husband, George Sibley, was not allowed to call or fax her. He was transferred away from Holman prison where he was / is incarcerated and to where she was taken to be killed in the electric chair and so they never got to say goodbye. She was denied a TV interview but eventually after pressure was applied, she was allowed a telephone interview with WSFA TV. The state of Alabama is trying to kill George Sibley as well but he is fighting back. Hopefully he will survive and be able to clear both their names. |

I will always believe that Lynda Lyon is innocent of murder. My reasons are that she was a very faithful believer in God and would not lie. Also that she shot at the police officer in the belief that he was about to kill her husband, her son or herself. AnnEzelius / Sweden May 2002 June / July 2002... In these past two months I have read that Judith Neelley, doing a life sentence for first degree murder, may be given parole. This same woman was originally given the death sentence in 1983 which was commuted to a life sentence in 1999 by the then and outgoing Governor of Alabama, Fob James. According to Alabama law, a person doing a life sentence is eligible for parole after one and a half decades. Neelley has spent 19 years in prison. Lynda had written me about this case and said that Gov James KNEW that the man taking his place as Governor of Alabama, Don Siegelman, intended to execute a woman. Also, a Jury had recommended a life sentence but a Judge had imposed the death sentence. My question is this. What is more heinous...shooting at an irresponsible police officer who had put himself at risk..or murdering an innocent child who had been sexually abused by the husband of the woman who may now be given her freedom. Who of these two women REALLY DESERVED the death penalty? ******************************** WSFA TV gave Lynda the chance to speak by telephone before she died. The authorities in Alabama tried to cut her off completely from the outside world but could not succeed. Even though the planned television interview with her was not allowed she was interviewed by telephone and reached out to the people of Alabama. ******************************** George Sibley Fights On... Lynda was / is married to George Sibley who is incarcerated in Holman prison on death row. She remained passionately in love with him to the last and I know she would want him to go on living! I am enclosing part of a LETTER she wrote me pertaining to this Love.. He is awaiting his execution date and will most likely die with a lethal injection. He has no state public defender to help him appeal his case. Read about him and the way he is fighting for his life...and also trying to clear his and mainly Lynda's name. |

| Political Influences.. It seems to me that people are dropping in to view my tribute to Lynda. For those of you who have been " here"..Peace! In view of an e-mail I received today..I would like to say that I am NOT influenced by any particular political issues or ideals. I told this to Lynda..and I also said that arming oneself inadvertently means that eventually the weapon will get used! I am, like Ghandi, NOT in love with violence... The author of the e-mail actually wrote to say thanks to me for putting out this Tribute. He also said he found it very informative especially after having sought information elsewhere in cyberspace and having found very little of it. TID BITS I am happy that my input is being read...and am not in competition with others who also have information pertaining to Lynda and George. I am merely trying to preserve her good name and to present her in another light to her son, Gordon..whom she loved VERY much! She loved her mother too in spite of their very different beliefs and approaches to life. To Gordon I say.."You need not be ashamed of your Mom..she was a good and caring person! " 7/02 I had a letter from George a week or so ago. It seems he is in good spirits and is getting a little help from here and there. I thank those who are offering legal advice..and I am hoping that George will grab at any chance he gets of living on. I know he need not feel guilty about Lynda's death as she chose to walk the way she did..and I'm positive in my mind that she would grant him his life. SO..go for it George..you have alot to give yet!! I am pleased that I, like George, love motor engines. He has written me much about them and my only sorrow is that I'm not a guy! I read today that the life of the possible murderer of a little girl in California, may be spared. Well..if he is innocent that is good..but if he is guilty..?? I cannot help but wonder what would happen if she had been a police officer!! Is this not a case of pure discrimination?? Just a thought!! 9/9/02..Had a really cool letter from George yesterday. He sounded very laid back..not at all flustered. He said..March..one way or the other. This does not make me feel good at all as I am enjoying corresponding with him. He is very clued up on all subjects..!! "Hope you're around for a good while longer, George.." 9/15 /02...ALABAMA IS ALMOST READY TO EXECUTE AGAIN!!.. The Alabama Supreme Court set a Nov. 7 execution date for George Sibley Jr., whose common-law wife was electrocuted in May for gunning down an Opelika police officer. The Supreme Court set the date on Monday at the request of Attorney General Bill Pryor. Sibley and Linda Lyon Block were convicted of capital murder and sentenced to die for the Oct. 4, 1993, shooting death of police officer Roger Motley Jr. in a shopping center parking lot in Opelika. Sibley, like Block, has not mounted any last-minute appeals and has no attorney of record, said Clay Crenshaw, who handles death penalty cases for the state attorney general's office. | 10/16/02..It seems as if the state of Alabama means to cause a sensation by executing George Sibley with the first lethal injection in that state. His wife, Lynda Lyon, was the last person to be killed in the Electric Chair in the same state in May 2002. The " excuse" would be the "stay" of execution given to Donald Dallas because the judge "has no time to read his appeal before Thursday"..which was to be his execution day Some quotes from the Online Petition.. 238. The fact that George Sibley was denied the right to present his exculpatory evidence is proof that the courts are corrupt. A Stay of Execution is in order if there is to be any renewed faith in the system. 237. Lynda and George were "railroaded," because the police are treated like "mini" gods and given protected status, so that they can continue to help enforce provisions of the 1933 government bankruptcy. The REAL criminals are on the wrong side of the bars!. 231. The background of this police officer should be revisited. This evidence was just supressed. He had misused his authority before this case. What gave the police the right to pull a gun while asking for a driver's papers. George and Lynda were railroaded The media coverage was based on a bunch of lies that were told in the beginning. Followup reporting just repeated the lies instead of investigating what really happened. I mentioned the policeman's background to reporters and they said, yea they knew and George should be set free!!!!! Lynda defended her child, that is what mothers are suposed to do!!!!!! She was murdered by the state of Alabama for defending her young!!!!!What has this world come to? |

| AMOS KING Killed By The State Of Florida on 26th February,2003. Amos King was executed by lethal injection in Florida USA on 26th February 2003. He was pronounced dead at 6.43pm,the Governor's office said. He insisted that he was innocent to the bitter end. He was denied "another" last meal as he already had eaten 2 "last meals" before this one. I never got to know much about Amos King until I joined the Florida Support Group a few months ago. I then did my small "byte" together with others to try to save his life. The best part was that the Internet and computers joined us together even though we are from different countries and speak different languages. We are of different faiths and beliefs but we came together and pooled our knowledge and time in order to present the case and its many flaws to the world. Unfortunately "the world" in general has deaf ears. I have added Amos to this webpage because he was loved by many and will be sadly missed just as Lynda Lyon is missed by those who loved her. His original webpages are at -CCADP I admire Amos King for his ability to survive and remain sane in a cell for 25 years. It seems he helped many inmates with legal work while on death row and he has their appreciation for that and also for his message of hope. I hope that the family of Tillie Brady find God's Peace. I myself cannot imagine how I would re-act if a loved one of mine was murdered and I believed that the killer had been found, judged and sentenced. It is such a personal thing!
