VIRGINIA BEACH — A Navy man pleaded guilty today to multiple charges of producing child pornography.

Nathan A. Wilson 25, was convicted of 25 counts of producing obscene material involving a minor, said Commonwealth’s Attorney Harvey L. Bryant III.

The case dates from a joint investigation by the U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and Virginia Beach police that began in 2003.

Investigators initially found Wilson was visiting known child pornography sites, police said at the time. Detectives arrested him Dec. 9, 2004, according to court records.

Upon examining his computer, detectives found he had been taking pornographic pictures of young children and storing them electronically.

Wilson is a petty officer third class assigned to Atlantic Ordnance Command, Sewells Point detachment, where he has worked since April 2002, the Navy said today. He was living in Virginia Beach at the time of his arrest.

Wilson is due to be sentenced June 28.

The investigation is continuing. Police asked anyone with information about this case to call detectives at 427-1749.
