Boy Targeted in Sex Assault

An 11-year-old boy was abducted and sexually assaulted near the Colden Oaks apartments in the 200 block of West Colden Avenue in South Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The boy escaped from his abductor, and his parents called 911 shortly after 1 p.m. He was treated at a hospital.

His attacker is described as a 5 foot, 6-inch African American male age 15 to 18, police said. He was wearing a gray shirt over a long-sleeve blue thermal undershirt and bluejeans. He was wearing a ski mask and was armed with a gun.

Officers and detectives, along with bloodhounds and forensics experts, were sent to the area to search for the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (213) 972-7828.
