Richard W. Langford, 49, of Clearwater, was charged with sexual battery. He was being held Tuesday at Pinellas County Jail with bail set at $150,000.

Langford is accused of raping a mentally challenged 29- year-old woman at Mapleway Community Adult Living Facility, 485 Mapleway St., according to jail affidavits.

An administrator at Mapleway found the woman's light on but her door locked at 11 p.m. Sunday, sheriff's officials said. Using his passkey, the administrator opened the door and found Langford and the woman inside, they said. The woman said Langford had just forced her to have sex, officials said.
