Man Allegedly Trades Cigarettes For Sex With Minors
Police Believe Numerous Girls Were Supplied With Drugs, Alcohol
A 21-year-old man accused of exchanging cigarettes for sex acts with two 11-year-old girls in Monroe is facing several charges.
John Stuart Dotson (pictured, left) was arraigned on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to Michigan State Police in Monroe. Police began their investigation of Dotson after two mothers in Frenchtown Villa filed a complaint that their 11-year-old daughters voluntarily performed oral sex on Dotson for a cigarette, police said.
Police said further investigation revealed that Dotson had numeral sexual relationships with girls under the age of 16. The minors consented to sexual intercourse; however, the age of consent is 16 years old under Michigan law, police said.Investigators believe Dotson and other male suspects, who were not identified, supplied the girls with alcohol and various drugs, including marijuana, cocaine, opium and prescription painkillers. Police said the girls may have been intoxicated when they consented to having sex with Dotson.The sex acts occurred at Dotson's residence and another residence in Frenchtown Villa, police said.Police said Dotson has admitted to having sex with numerous underage girls.Dotson is being held at the Monroe County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000, according to police. He could face up to life in prison if convicted of the first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges, police said.
