How To Feel Safe Around Our Religious Community

We all know that the members of a religious community are trustworthy and decent people. We also know that we can trust them to watch out for those who would wrong us. Unfortunately, there is no difference between how to feel about such people and how to feel about non-religious individuals or any other set of strangers. What does it really mean to be a trustworthy and decent person? What makes someone trustworthy and nice? How do you find out if the religious community you belong to is trustworthy and decent?

You can ask other people to help you answer these questions. Ask your religious leaders how they feel about it. Find out what measures they take to ensure that sexual offenders are not allowed to have a place in their congregation. Check with your local police to see if they have information on sex offenders in your area. Do some research and find out what you need to know about how to feel safe around religious people.

When you know you are dealing with members of a religious community that has trustworthy members, you can have a more comforting experience. You will no longer feel afraid of being violated, or of the mere thought that someone out there could be a potential abuser. You will feel safe around this community because you will know that the members of the community will watch out for you.
